Okay folks, I want to buy a travel cover for my '99 Venture. Something to cover it up at night to keep it dry and etc. I would rather have a full cover instead of the half cover. I want something quality but also something that packs fairly small. I like the looks of the Dowco Guardian but it may be too bulky. Space savings is not the primary consideration though because I do pull the trailer on our longer trips. So, what are your recommendations?

The Guardian is a good cover and it will fold down fairly well if you take your time. I use them on a couple of bikes at home but use the Tour King half covers on the road due to space issues.

I may not know where I am but I am Not lost...

E-Z Touring Motorcycle Covers

I can't say enough about the service of this man. I believe he is a rider that just makes covers (or has them made) as a side business. He has done me right on multiple covers for different size bikes.

Rick uses one also. They last for years - made of some sort of treated rip stop nylon. They pack as small as a full size cover can back. Fit behind the seat on my 88 VR. Still use it on my LT.

Don,

I've used many since I started riding a touring rig and the one from EZ Touring is by far the best I have ever used and they pack small. But the best feature is the small bungee cord they use for the bottom of the cover rather than elastic that everyone else uses.

You won't be sorry and I'll even throw in $30 on it, for the helmet cord you gave me last year.

Don,
I have a Nelson-Riggs bike cover that I have had for the past 15 years, been through 3 bikes w/ it, and it is still in excellent shape. It packs up real small too.

Don,
Check out Geza Gear Pro Stretch Covers. www.gezagear.com Lisa and I use them on our bikes and love them. Non-scratch stretch material that stays on the bike even if it is windy out. They say you can trailer with them on the bike also. Don't know about that, haven't tried. Have also used E-Z Touring covers and had good luck with them. Like the fit of the Geza Gear better.

Don, I have both the EZ-Tour half cover and I recently purchased their full cover. They are great. I have been using their half cover ("Traveler") for many years. A bit more expensive, but in my opinion, well worth it. They pack smaller and protect better than most other covers. I highly recommend them.

Don, I bought a Wolf (#13013-95000) cover (size XL) on a phone special from J.C. Whitney for $22.60. Got this second one in case mine was lost/stolen. It has a non-scratch upper material for windshield, heat shield in lower panel for the pipes. Comes with two sealable vent flaps at the top to let out heat/moisture and a zippered storage bag and strap to lash to the bike. Cover color is blue upper and silver lower.
Bag is silver. Packs to 10x5x7.5 inches. They are on Special now for $24.99 at JCW part #01HT4428Y. Dave Spry '99 RSV
